SK Events do the double with two business gong nominations.
Liverpool event management and publicity company SK Events has picked up two nominations this month for industry awards which recognise their work in large-scale public events.
The first nomination in The Liverpool Business Awards sees the consultancy shortlisted in the category of Best Marketing Campaign for their promotion of the new RunLiverpool Marathon.
The 2011 race which takes place Sunday October 9, will be the first to be held in the city in over 20 years and is set to be a high-profile annual event in Liverpool’s sporting calendar, attracting an estimated 30,000 runners and supporters to the City Region.
The consultancy team oversaw the civic launch of the UK’s newest Marathon in February and has continued to market and publicise the long-distance race to a regional, national and international audience, as well as managing sponsor’s relations with key event partners including Hilton Liverpool and Porsche Centre Chester.
SK Events are also part of the Taste Cumbria Food Festival team nominated for Tourism Event of The Year at the Cumbria Tourism Awards in July.
The Taste Cumbria Food Festival was event managed and marketed by SK Events in September 2010. The event attracted over 17,000 visitors to the town of Cockermouth in a regeneration response to the devastating floods of 2009, and saw demonstrations from celebrity chefs John Torode, Antony Worrall Thompson and Aldo Zilli, as well as food tasting and a variety of workshops. Following the success of last year’s event, SK Events were recently re-appointed to deliver the food festival in 2011 and 2012.
Denise Harris, Managing Director of SK Events commented: “It is very exciting to be nominated for awards and sends a positive message not only to our clients but also to the SK Events team.
This is an amazing achievement, we’ve been nominated for three awards this year so far and it’s great to know that our hard work is being recognised by our peers.”
