Mal is back with a bang
Malmaison shook the grounds of Liverpool last week with an extravagant re-launch of the hotel.
The celeb-tastic say more than 500 bottles of Veuve Clicquot Champagne popped as well as cocktails until dawn and indulgent offerings of food, making a spectacular comeback to the city.
The flamboyant party was attended by Corrie and Hollyoaks stars as well as well known glitterati of Liverpool. X Factor girl group Estrella performed in a pop up nightclub in the hotel, with Graeme Hawley (Corrie’s John Stape) spinning the deck seeing all guests eventually dancing well into the night.
Guest at the party, Jon Kelly of Meet & Potato Events, says: “Fabulous Party, fabulous venue, fabulous event – I expect nothing less of the Malmaison brand. Well done.”
The evening also gave guests a few extra talking points, including the presence of Flying the knot's wedding owls, a Liver Bird (with a difference) ice sculpture, pop up band and Malmaison branded £80,000 race car.
The self proclaimed ‘Third Liver Bird’ luxury hotel is the first in the Mal group to be built from scratch to the owner’s personal taste, and is home to the well known Plum Bar. The bar, furnished in seductive purple, boasts one of the best cocktail menus in the region – most certainly the place to be seen.
Hotel General Manager Helen Caters says: “Malmaison parties are notorious and we wanted to be sure to give Liverpool a big treat to celebrate our hot new look.”
The Mal originally opened in January 2007, but due to structure problems the building has spent most of the past four years surrounded by scaffolding. They held what has to be dubbed the party of year to celebrate the official reopening of the hotel.
At Seen HQ we are quietly hoping for a new problem to arise with the building to give the Malaison a excuse to throw us another unforgettable rock and roll evening!
