May I clarify an aspect in review by Andy Green in the Liverpool Echo concerning the successful Gay Quarter Pride Party.

We did receive some modest support from Liverpool City Council in the order of 844 pounds, 544 to provide additional toilets including disabled persons toilets in both Cumberland and Stanley Streets and 300 towards a promotional DVD distributed to over 100 social network sites across the UK and Europe.

This welcome support was authorised by the personal discretion of the Leader of the Council , Cllr Joe Anderson for which I would want to express my personal gratitude

This was in addition to valuable technical support and widespread co-operation by Council Community Safety, Licensing , City Highways and Senior Police Officers

The support of a dedicated number of volunteers and the financial support of many clubs and businesses in the Gay Quarter ensured in 29 days adding essential capacity in the Gay Quarter

Lastly can we thank Andy Green for his encouragement of Pride in the Gay Quarter and profiling of LGBT issues in the Liverpool Echo
