Customers and local residents came out in force to help celebrate Delifonseca’s fifth birthday.
The team at Liverpool’s renowned delicatessen and neighbourhood restaurant created their own city centre pop up garden in the middle of Stanley Street, complete with turf, a BBQ, deck chairs and live entertainment. They also held a popular baking competition to find their ‘2011 Delifonseca Honorary Cake Maker’.
Proprietor Candice Fonseca said: “We’ve had a great five years in the city and we wanted to celebrate by putting on a series of events for the local community. People were able to have a mooch around the new look store and see just how our neighbourhood deli has been transformed over the years.
“The event was all about bringing local residents together. We plan to reinforce that message by also introducing a Residents Club on the back of the birthday events. We think it’s both essential and important to give residents the chance to interact on a regular basis to enjoy a glass of wine, eat good food and chat about their interests.”
Both the restaurant and the deli have just undergone a five figure sum refurbishment in a bid to help them widen their customer base and to create more of a distinction between the deli section and the restaurant, which is located above. The renovation sees the upgrade of the restaurant’s interior with new banquet seating, additional lighting, mirrored walls and a tiled back bar.
