It's now December and the countdown to Christmas has begun at St Helens Theatre Royal.

To kick off the festive season come away with us to the mystical East ... of St Helens town centre with our glittering family pantomime, Aladdin which runs from Fri 2 Dec 2011 – Sun 8 Jan 2012 and stars Master of Illusions Richard De Vere as the evil Abanazer, and Coronation Street’s very own Andy McDonald - Nick Cochrane, as Aladdin. Kev Seed has grabbed his truncheon and will play PC Noodle, whilst Radio City 96.7’s Claire Simonsen flies in as Slave of the Ring.

For those who like their festive fun a bit on the raunchy side, don’t fear - we have the perfect show for you in the form of Night Collar, which runs from Mon 5 – Thu 8 December! It’s late and we’re in St Helens Town Centre on Christmas Eve, the taxi metre is ticking over; this cabbie is working on one of the busiest nights of the year. Working the late shift, you’d expect to meet unusual characters, but you ain’t seen anything yet!

If your idea of a Christmas show includes good shepherds, wise men and a virgin, then you’re going to be in for a bit of a disappointment. If, however, your festive season wouldn’t be complete without nudity, drunkenness, Elvis and a lady of the night selling her wares – then Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Night Collar! Having previously played at Liverpool’s Royal Court, Night Collar now comes to St Helens for 4 nights only as the perfect pre- Christmas treat for all.

Also appearing at the Theatre Royal this December are folk favourites, Houghton Weavers. These acclaimed musicians will be performing for one night only on Sunday 4th December and guarantee a wonderful evening of song and humour.
